The Department of Criminal Case Supervision of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor’s Office conducted a monitoring and technical support mission to the People’s Prosecutor’s Office of Khammouane Province on 13 May 2026.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed the implementation of criminal prosecution and oversight of criminal proceedings during the first four months of 2026. Discussions focused on strengthening prosecutorial supervision, ensuring lawful investigation procedures, improving coordination among criminal justice agencies, and enhancing the prosecution of priority crimes, including money laundering, terrorism financing, narcotics, cybercrime, illegal gambling, environmental and natural resource crimes, illegal wildlife trade, illegal hunting, illegal mining, and asset confiscation related to criminal offences. The mission emphasized strict adherence to the rule of law to ensure that offenders are prosecuted while safeguarding the rights of innocent persons.
